FAQ
Questions from event teams
How does pricing work for a one-time event?
Events are priced by total streaming hours, number of concurrent listeners, and target languages. We quote per-event with full transparency — no surprise overages. Typical 3-day conferences land in the $1,500–$8,000 range.
Can it replace human interpreters?
For most use cases, yes. For high-stakes diplomatic, legal, or medical settings, we recommend pairing our AI for the long tail of languages with human interpreters for your top two or three. Many of our customers run a hybrid model.
How accurate is the translation?
On evaluation benchmarks, MyOpenDoor Translate matches or exceeds leading commercial systems on conversational and technical speech. Accuracy climbs further when you provide a custom glossary for your industry.
Will it work with our existing AV stack?
Yes. We accept input from any standard audio interface or directly from streaming platforms via SRT/RTMP. We output to phones via WebRTC, to overlays via OBS/vMix sources, and to your livestream via auxiliary audio tracks.
Can attendees join from their phones?
Yes — and they don't have to download anything. Attendees scan the QR code printed on your event signage, pick their language, and the audio starts playing instantly in the browser.
Where is the audio stored?
By default, raw audio is encrypted, stored in our infrastructure for 30 days for quality assurance, and then deleted. You can shorten or extend that window, opt out of storage entirely, or request a private deployment.
